1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the AI Screen Awards ("AISA") website at aiscreenawards.org and by submitting entries to the competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
- The competition is open to filmmakers worldwide, aged 18 or older (or with parental/guardian consent if under 18).
- Student categories require valid student identification at the time of submission.
- Films must have been completed after January 1, 2025.
3. Submission Rules
- All submissions must be made through our official submission platform, FilmFreeway.
- Submitters must own or have secured all necessary rights to the submitted work, including music, images, and performances.
- Films may be submitted to multiple categories.
- Non-English language films must include English subtitles.
- Vertical content must be in 9:16 aspect ratio.
- Short films must be under 40 minutes in duration.
- Submitters must disclose AI tools and methods used in production.
4. Fees
Submission fees vary by category, deadline, and submission tier. Fee details are listed on our FilmFreeway page. Submission fees are non-refundable once payment is processed.
5. Selection & Judging
- All submissions will be reviewed by our selection committee.
- Decisions of the selection committee and judges are final and not subject to appeal.
- AISA reserves the right to disqualify any entry that violates these terms.
- Nominees and winners will be announced according to the published schedule.
6. Rights & Licenses
- Submitters retain all ownership rights to their work.
- By submitting, you grant AISA a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use clips (up to 3 minutes), stills, and promotional materials from your film for marketing, promotional, and archival purposes.
- AISA may use your name, likeness, and biographical information in connection with the festival.
7. Content Standards
Submissions must not contain:
- Content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
- Content created without proper consent of depicted individuals
- Content that promotes illegal activities
- Content generated using stolen or pirated AI models or datasets
8. Limitation of Liability
AISA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your participation in the competition or use of this website. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount of submission fees paid by you.
9. Modifications
AISA reserves the right to modify these terms, the competition rules, schedule, or categories at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via our website and email.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good faith negotiation, and if necessary, binding arbitration.
